God Supplies Generously
Generosity begets generosity.
Have you ever hosted an event at your own expense? "Generous supply" is used almost exclusively of God indicating the generosity of God toward his children. "To supply" originally was used of a man who hosted a public chorus by defraying the cost completely at his own expense.
God richly supplies all the resources to live a life for God.
- Seed for sowing so that we can have a harvest of righteousness (2 Corinthians 9:10)
- The Spirit so that we do not have to live by the Law (Galatians 3:5)
- Growth to the body. (Colossians 2:19)
- Strength for His servants to serve (1 Peter 4:11)
- An abundant entrance into the eternal kingdom (2 Peter 1:11)
The only exception to this word being used of the generosity of God is in 1 Peter 1:5. I should generously respond to God's generosity! I should spare no expense in generously supplying the attributes and behaviors of Christ in my own life.
